After the conquest of Basra Imam wrote the following letter to the citizens of Kufa.
Allah may reward you, townsmen (of Basra), on behalf of the member of the Prophet’s family the best of reward that He bestows on those who acts in His obedience and those who thank Him for His bounties. You heard me and obeyed, and when you were called you promptly responded.
